Join us for a Women's special edition of Short Stories Aloud as part of our Every Woman Series 2018! In this very special edition we will be joined by authors Kit de Waal and Sarah Vaughan.

Listen to professional actors perform short stories written by Kit and Sarah! Afterwards, Short Stories Aloud founder and host Sarah Franklin will be interviewing Kit about Sarah about their new novels, The Trick to Time, and An Anatomy of a Scandal.

Kit de Waal, born to an Irish mother and Caribbean father, was brought up among the Irish community of Birmingham in the 60's and 70's. Her debut novel My Name Is Leon was an international bestseller, shortlisted for the Costa First Novel Award, long-listed for the Desmond Elliott Prize and won the Kerry Group Irish Novel of the Year Award for 2017. Her latest novel, The Trick to Time, is an unforgettable tale of grief, longing, and a love that lasts a lifetime.

Sarah Vaughan read English at Oxford before going on to become a journalist. She spent eleven years at the Guardian as a news reporter, health correspondent, and political correspondent. She left to freelance and began writing fiction the week she turned forty. Her debut novel, The Art of Baking Blind, was the result. The Farm at the Edge of the World was published in June 2016. Her latest novel, The Anatomy of a Scandal, is an astonishingly incisive and suspenseful novel about a scandal amongst Britain’s privileged elite and the women caught up in its wake.

Please join us for this very special event!

Please note that doors will open at 6.45pm.
