16 Aug 16:00 - 18 Aug 16:00 - Ambleside
Rydal Hall Conference Centre & Retreat House
This is a summer retreat for woodwind & french horn players. It is open to pre-existing wind quintets, or other small wind ensembles. We also welcome applications from individuals and will endeavour to place you in same-standard ensembles.
Unlike many other events of this type, the tutor : attendee ratio is excellent at 1:5 (at maximum capacity), compared to a more typical 1:10 (or more) at many other events. This therefore means that places are limited, so early booking is advisable, especially for flautists and clarinettists! The tutors for this retreat will be confirmed nearer the time, but will be of a very high calibre, as with our other retreats.
As well as tutored sessions in groups, we are able to offer individual lessons with our tutors, at an additional cost.
Our fee per person is yet to be confirmed, but will likely be @ £370 - £380. This will include accommodation for two nights at Rydal Hall on a full board basis and the group tuition fee.
Close to Lake Windermere, Rydal Hall lies between Ambleside and Grasmere. It is a beautiful setting, being surrounded by over 30 acres of gardens and woodland and having its very own waterfall!
There will be free time scheduled into the weekend, to enable you to relax and explore the beautiful gardens and surrounding area.
Rydal Hall offers superb accommodation and homecooked food. Most of the rooms have ensuite facilities, with a few rooms having designated private bathrooms a short distance down the corridor.
